Dear colleagues
I am pleased to announce the successful conclusion of the election for the vacant CDNL Vice-Chair position. The voting period, which took place from 02 October 2024 to 03 October 2024, saw robust participation from our membership, including those that were not able to join us in Brisbane.
Four highly qualified individuals were nominated for the role. I am delighted to confirm that Dr Tomasz Makowski (Director General, National Library of Poland) has been elected as the new Vice-Chair of CDNL.
I extend a heartfelt congratulations to Dr Makowski and look forward to working with him and his fellow Vice-Chair Leslie Weir (Director, National Libraries and Archives Canada) as we plan our next Annual Meeting in Astana, Kazakhstan.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the nominees for their interest, as well as their continued contributions to the CDNL community.
As I mentioned in Brisbane, I encourage you all to consider nominating for CDNL leadership roles in the future. The Chair and one Vice-Chair position will be vacated in August 2025, with elections held to fill these important roles.
Please join me in congratulating Dr Makowski on his appointment as Vice-Chair.
Kindest regards
Marie-Louise
